I need to choose on OTR appliance.

I’ve narrowed it down to GE Profile Convection OTR Microwave Oven and the GE Profile Advantium120 OTR. I’m leaning toward the convection/microwave which can act as a second oven; I’ve heard these are good for baking. This unit has two baking shelves.

Want to be able to use 9 x 13 baking dishes.

I wonder about the Advantium120 as well but I have heard it is fairly complicated to use and simple microwaving is cumbersome in this unit.

Would like to hear from people who have used these.

Re: I need to choose on OTR appliance.

I have the Advantium and love it. It is a bit complex to use (lots of knobs and buttons and reading the scrolling messages) but it's easy enough to get used to. The speedcook is pretty cool!

The one thing I regret is that you cannot use 9x13 baking dishes in the OTR Advantium. There is no way to stop the turntable in the base from turning, so the dish cannot go on the "floor", and there is no extra shelf to be able to lift the dish off the "floor". Somehow I missed that when making my decision, and now I wish I had gotten the convection/micro that my mother has and you are contemplating.
HTH!

we selected GE Profile Convection OTR Microwave Oven. It works great. Holds my full size cookie sheets and 9 x 13. Preheats very quickly and we have not used regular oven since it was installed

NewKitchen, now that you've had it a while, are you still happy with the convection micro? I've been going through the same debate vs the Advantium.
