The depth adjustment described in the article is for the old 130 degree hinges. With the new 125 degree hinges, and the 153 degree ones, the rear screw adjusts the depth directly, you don't loosen it and don't push or pull the door. Turn the screw clockwise to move the hinge inwards and counterclockwise to move it outwards.
