OR: (Sherwin Williams Stain Formula - Use 3 coats for a good match)
[BREAK=Duvbo]
Duvbo:
Behr Premium Plus interior semi-gloss enamel base - Ultra Pure White #3050. Here's what the custom color label says:
Colorant OZ 48 96
AX PERM YELLOW 1 5 1
B LAMP BLACK 0 28 0
I BROWN OXIDE 0 28 0
OR:
Sherwin Williams colour match using their ProClassic paint - Semi Gloss - Custom colour. This is for a gallon and the base is Extra White. Formula below:
BAC Colorant oz 32 64 128
B1-Black - 16 - -
R2-Maroon - 2 - 1
Y3-Deep Gold - 35 - 1
The colour is indistinguishable from the original and using some floetrol in the formula and a mohair roller or foam brush I have been able to get a smooth - near factory finish result.
OR:
For Poplar: Pick best stock without streaks. Light cherry stain on untreated wood. Not water based type. Steel wool sanding. With modified chinese brush (cut thin and ragged) streak over water based paint color: ochre (craft supply store) using it very thin in wood grain pattern to match cabinets. Coat with golden oak (not water based) stain to complete.
