Okay another question about Balk floating floor... I'm putting it my new kitchen and was wondering if I should lay it under the cabinets. (I'm using a 2x4 against the wall so only 2 akurum legs will be making contact with the flooring per cabinet)? The display at my store with Balk has kitchen cabinets with capita legs on top. But I was wondering if this affected the expansion and shrinkage of the floor?
No, you should experience no issues with placing cabinet legs on the flooring- it covers a very small space so it won't interrupt any "processes." I would liken it to any piece of furniture- at worst a piano, more like a couch.
I would argue against it. The legs offer a truly impressive range of adjustments for funky floors. Even in new construction, we found a couple of places where we really needed that. In an old house I wouldn't give it up, period.

Find out how you can get a piece of Chuck. And if you ever have a question, PLEASE feel free to PM me. Seriously. I'm happy to help you.
When I first posed the question about using a ledger board for the base cabinets in my sister's kitchen, Chuck told me just to use only legs. Well, sometimes I'm too stubborn to take good advice and used a 1x3 ledger. Perhaps it was just dumb luck, but I couldn't be happier about how it turned out for me. Only had one cabinet on the end of a run that I had to add a little shim. The floor was far less than level and I think that the ledger made it easier, for me anyway. I took great care in picking out straight wood and put the level to good use to make sure that the ledger was in correct position. If I had to do it over again I'd use the ledger in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't tell anyone that it is the best way because I've only done it once and it happend to work.
Another thing that I found that helped me a lot was that after I took all the sheetrock off the walls I put in blocking anywhere that I thought I may need to place a screw. This meant that I didn't need to use any drywall anchors to attach the brackets in the upper corners of the base cabinets. Just use a screw and I knew I'd hit wood. Also did the same for where I knew that the upper suspension rail would end.
I put laminate flooring in the kitchen after the cabinets were in and put silicone caulking around all the edges. No problems for me, but could see it being easier to install before cabinets. Can't see the weight of the legs being an issue because the fridge weighs a lot more. To me it all comes down to if you get a bit of a leak from the dishwasher and how it affects the laminate and which way it's easiest to repair. In my own kitchen the DW leaked and I now have a 2 foot long ripple in my vinyl floor.
