Hi all --

I am hoping to make a storage bench for our foyer by turning the 2X4 EXPEDIT sideways and attaching three sets of CAPITA 8" legs. With the red drawers/doors this would tie in nicely with our new ABSTRAKT red kitchen, but I'm not sure if it's possible. Are the shelves locked into position once the unit is constructed?

Any insight will be appreciated.

I use this unit sideways in my son's bedroom, with baskets inside. No legs though, it just sits on the floor.

Looks great. Would look very nice with legs as well.

I think it is intended to go either way. I've seen it used both ways in Ikea displays.

We also have on set on its side. My husband built a wooden pedestal for it to rest on.
