Termosfar: rehanging

By an accident, I had one of my Termosfar lights cables hang loose. Then I decided to remove the cables with the lights completely, however IKEA sells no cables alone but only complete packs which sounds insane.

Thus, I decided to reinstall my old cables, however I have them with the cuts in the cables from the previous installation. Now I have fixed the 5 spots to the cable, but not yet attached the power source.

My questions:
1. Do you think it is safe enough to just shut down power and attach the power to the cables?
2. Is it safe to use the system as is, given the fact that previous cuts are still visible?

Re: Termosfar: rehanging

I'm not 100% clear on what you mean by "cuts". Did you have to splice the wires together? What did you use to do this?

If what you need to do is reconnect the transformer part of the fixture to the ceiling box, you absolutely MUST be certain there is no power to the box where it connects. Turn off the power at the breaker.

So to answer your questions
#1: Yes, turn off the power and reconnect them
#2: still not knowing whtat you mean by 'cuts', but it's a low-voltage system, so once the transformer is up, anything beyond that has very little current...not enough to hurt you.
