Hi all-

I have a Fisher Paykel single oven and cooktop that I need to fit into an Ikea cooktop cabinet. I've never done this before because my own kitchen has a slide in range. I'm designing this for someone else who already has these appliances.

My questions are as follows:

1. How do you secure the oven in the cooktop base cabinet? What will hold up the oven?
2. Do I need a filler piece of cabinet above the oven before it hits the counter?
3. The Fisher website says they can both coexist in the same cabinet. Any tricks I should watch out for?
4. The cooktop is actually 33" wide underneath so I'm planning to get a 30" cabinet and add 2" filler piece on either side of the cabinet. I might actually spill the 3+" off to the right then build a open mini thin cabinet for either wine bottles/cookbooks/cookie sheets below the cooktop depth. Comments?

There are two options here:
1. 30" base cabinet - use a 30" shallow drawer front for the filler above the oven (which sits on the bottom of the cabinet) and have filler on the sides of the cabinet to accomodate the cooktop (ie. 2" each side) - the sides of the 30" cabinet will also need to be cut.
2. 36" base cabinet - the cooktop will fit without fillers/ cutting, but for the oven you will need a 36x96" panel in order to cut the trim surround for the oven...more expensive than option #1, but better looking.

If you have room for the 36" base - that is what I would recommend.
