Hi all,

I've recently bought a number of furniture pieces from Ikea, and was delighted to find this great resource on the Internet - it's been very interesting reading about other people's experiences.

The problem I have at the moment, is with the Friel TV bench. In the second step of the assembly instructions, it says to screw the rectangular steel frame, onto the bottom of the base. There are 10 holes to screw into, but the holes on the frame don't line up with the holes on the base.

They are so bad that no amount of forcing will get the screws in, so I exchanged it for another set. But to my disbelief, the second set has the same problem as well, albeit a tiny bit better. This has been a great inconvenience to me, as the closest Ikea is about an hour's drive away, so spending 4 hours on the road just for a TV bench is just ridiculous.

I've spoken to Ikea, and we are now waiting for a new batch of these to arrive, and hopefully they won't have the same problem.

Has anyone else experienced this on the Friel TV bench? Are they just poorly designed, or did I really get a bad batch?
