I searched the forums but couldn't find any threads that specifically addressed this issue.
I bought the TV storage combination pictured below. Even though I bought the unit as a "combination," the product came in four separate units (2 vertical shelves, 1 TV bench, and 1 horizontal shelving unit). I cannot figure out for the life of me how the horizontal shelving unit that goes above and the across the TV attaches to the tall vertical shelves on the sides.
Each unit had its own separate instruction manual, and there was no integrated manual that describes how the units are supposed to be put together as a whole.
I can imagine one possible solution would be to mount the shelving unit onto the wall and place everything else around it, but since my unit has to be a few inches out from the wall, I don't think that would work.
Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site, I/D.
Why does your wall unit need to be a few inches off the wall? You do realize this will make it "deeper" than the adjacent shelving units, right?
In any case, sxpert is correct - you can screw the wall unit to the adjacent shelving units. When all is said and done, BE SURE to attach the vertical units securely to the wall!!!!

Re: Help with Besta TV storage combination assembly
I have the same issue but need to ask this: When attatching the middle shelf to the the two side shelves, are the supplied screws ok to use (they're almost 3.5cm long)? The middle shelf is quite heavy and that's just on it's own; Would 4 of those screws on each side be able to support the weight?
If someone who has done this first hand could answer my questions then I would be really grateful. Thankyou in advance, Matt.

I just couldn't trust that those little screws would hold the thing up (especially with an expensive plasma TV right underneath it!), so I ended up getting some L-shaped corner brackets from a hardware store and attached four of them as additional support. So far, the thing hasn't come crashing down.
Re: Help with Besta TV storage combination assembly
I'm planning on putting together this combination, as well. From what I understand, the bookshelves on each side should be anchored to the wall, but what about the top middle unit? I am going to take impactdriver's advice and get some L-shaped brackets for reinforcement (especially with a LCD sitting below,) but does the middle-top piece NEED to be attached to the wall?

YES, definately, everything should be attached to the wall if possible.
Re: Help with Besta TV storage combination assembly
As I wrote earlier, I went with the L-shaped brackets on the middle shelf and, additionally, I attached the thing to the wall using four of those wall-attachment thingies. It's been a few months, and it appears to be totally stable thus far (although it's certainly not going to withstand an earthquake).
