Question Help needed with DOKKA MIDBEAM

I have a bed that might be the predesessor of the SORUM (looks similar, but mine is pine with grey cushions over the headboard). I got it from my Mum, and she hasnt included any brackets, screws etc!

The instructions for the SORUM dont quite match my bed though, as on my bed the bracket that holds the midbeam is different (and the crossbraces therefore cant be attached to it, as is the case with the SORUM). I read on another thread that these crossbraces sometimes attach to the middle of the DOKKA midbeam via a bracket, which seems to fit with my bed. And I dont have a bracket ....

Can someone post a pic of what the bracket looks like (so I can see what I am up against, and maybe get my Mum to find it) and/or let me know how I can get one.

Thanks

Re: Help needed with DOKKA MIDBEAM

I couldn't find a picture of the bracket you're looking for, but would describe it this way: it's rectangular shaped, about 7-8 cm. long x 1-2 cm. wide; the edges of it are "rolled" over, to give a little thickness (2-3 mm), but the ends are flat and have a hole drilled in them. It's made of the same galvanized steel as the mid beam.

If you can't find this bracket, you can substitute the Hamar mid beam for the Dokka, though I don't think it's as high quality as the Dokka.

Hamar doesn't come with the center bracket any more, the mounting plates for the midbeam will need to be switched as well.

Alternately I've got a bucket of the pieces Chuck described.
They fit through a slot in the midbeam. I'll try to remember to grab one and get a picture for you.

Thanks!

Hmmm if IKEA have replaced the Dokka midbeam, then I wont be able to buy a replacement bracket from them I assume. Hopefully it is simple enough that I can make one.

The bracket has changed some, but dokka and hamar will work in the same bracket.

Do you need one or two?

Heres some pictures.
The first is the bit that slides thought the midbeam so you can attach the cross braces.
The second is the mounting plate.

YES! It's the first one, the bit that slides through the midbeam, that I need.

Re: Help needed with DOKKA MIDBEAM

Welcome to IKEAFANS, Alicia.

There is no Dokka "bed", but you'll find the instructions for the Dokka mid-beam in the IKEApedia section of this website. Here's the link for the larger Malm beds, which have "typical" Dokka installation instructions.
Malm: Double, Queen or King Bed instructions

Be sure to click on the small box on the left side to download the full manual.
