Hi, I got a question about the base cabinet installation!

I was just reading the "Important Assembly and instllation tips" sheet from IKEA.

For Base cabinet installation, they say "Base cabinets are screwed directly to the wall in the inside upper corners of each frame".

But what if I don't have any studs around the upper corner of base cabinet frame?? We have drywall behind the cabinet which won't be strong enough to hold the cabinet w/screw.

I understand wall cabinet won't have this problem because they have suspention rail. But wondering how I should handle the base cabinet.

Thanks in advance for your tips and advice on this!

The cabinet isn't being held UP by the screws in the wall, simply held in place so they don't shift. The base cabinets sit on legs and ledger board or your own, home-built base. To hold them in place, we used a threaded, self-drillingdrywall anchorpurchased fromthe local hardware store. Worked liked a charm. Those cabinets aren't going ANYWHERE.

Thank you, Moon_Child, and sorry for replying you so late.

We ended up using the drywall anchor as well, and it worked great!

Thanks again!
