I bought a set of cabinets from IKEA and have had no issues assembling them until I came to my 49inch Base Corner (lazy susan) cabinet. For some reason, when I put in the square pillar it does not line up to fit flush with the top piece and it essentially sticks out. I have tried to fit this several different ways and no matter what I do it does not sit flush with the piece on top of it. Please help...
Thanks.
Jeff
(BTW, I am putting the cabinet in the "Right" side so the pillar has the line of holes on the right side, per the directions).
I've never had this problem, but can think of a couple of causes (other than the fact that your cabinet is just plain defective).
One possible issue may be with the front and back rails - unlike the other base cabinets, the rails on the 49" corner are NOT interchangeable.
There is a front rail, and there is a back rail. Like the other bases, they still get installed with the finished white edge facing out; the difference is in the two holes towards the middle of the rails. In the front rail, the holes line up left to right; in the back rail, the holes line up front to back.
It's also possible that you're installing the post backwards - not left and right backwards, but front to back backwards. The side with all the holes should face the open side of the cabinet - it sounds like you have this part correct. The front and back sides have the same number of holes in them, but the front side should be the one with the smaller holes in it.
I hope that helps.

Find out how you can get a piece of Chuck.
Just taking my inner IKEA geek out for a walk.
Thank you very much Chuck, you were correct. The two seemingly identical bars which go across the top of the cabinet were actually different, allowing for the pieces to fit together properly. Interestingly, there is no mention of the parts being different in my directions....
