Filler - Need to be ordered?

Hi - We are actively installing the cabinets today and I was asked where the filler pieces were. We can't find anything like that. The installer is getting cranky and the heat is turning up! Is filler something you need to anticipate and order when you are ordering the cabinets? Can the cover panels be cut down and used for filler? Are they basically the same thing? Thanks so much to all the knowledge you all have. Regards, Linda

Re: Filler - Need to be ordered?

HI,

You must be excited....

With regards to the filler - Plinth (toe kick) is usually used for filler pieces. You can rip it down to fit the area properly. You will need a bit of filler if you have a door opening against an adjacent wall, in order to clear the handle.

In the last kitchen I did I used a combination of toe kick/plinth or a ripped cover panel as well.

Re: Filler - Need to be ordered?

Glad to help.

You are so much farther along than I have - during our demo we have opened Pandora's box - and found a plethora of problems when we took down the plaster walls and sub floor - at least we know what we are dealing with and fixing it properly - has delayed the reconstruction a bit but.....

Are you keeping a blog??

Photos??

How many times have you walked into your kitchen today to admire the 22 installed cabinets <smile>
