Oh no. Will my 30" oven fit in the 30" oven cabinet?
These are the dimensions of my new oven. When I visited my ikea, the woman working in kitchens told me any 30" oven would fit. Now I've ordered my oven (specs/dimensions here) and am ready to place my cabinet order. I have been reading related threads, and am suddenly afraid it is too wide. Help?

You're fine.
There are two sets of dimensions there - one is the overall (visible) size of the oven, the other is the size of the cut-out. What this does say, though, is that the oven will cover most of the front of your cabinet, and there will be very little showing of any cover panel you might use.
You might even consider forgoing the cover panel - see how the beast fits in the cabinet with out the panel in place before you go through all the calculations, layout and other gymnastics involved in cutting the panel to fit your oven.

boy, they didn't make that skimatic easy to read, did they? but the interior cabinet dimensions necessary claim to be 28 1/2. the 30" ikea cab is actually 29 7/8 meaning that the interior is actually 28 3/8.
i'll let chuck (he's floating around) weigh in on this, but man, that's going to be tight....

What Dulci says is true - it will be a tight fit, but it will work. Just don't feed the oven once it's installed - if it gains any weight, things could get ugly.

I'm not sure I get the part about the cover panel, but I'm hearing you say that it will fit, and I'm relieved. I didn't realize that a cover panel was part of the front of the oven cabinet.
And if you are still reading, can I put in 3 drawers since I'm only doing a single oven?

yes, you can do 3 drawers, you get to configure the cabinet any way you want to
and the cover panel is the "oven panel" which can be used for the front of a cabinet in order to cover any gaps which can happen if the oven isn't wide enough... we didn't need one in my mom's kitchen we used an oven drawer as filler and saved the money for the big panel

I'm going to order today. If I tell them at the store that I would like three drawers will they be able to tell me exactly what to order? Or do I need one of the ikeafans gurus to help me with that (is it considered a modification?)
