Pull Out Pantry Door Adjustment?

The 88" tall pantry was fitted out this morning. It all works fine but the bottom of the door sticks out about 1/2" further than the top. I tried tightening the rods in the bottom shelf but they are tight as it can go. Then I tried loosening the rods on the top shelf which helped some but the door still sticks out on the bottom. Any more loosening of the top bars might make it unsafe. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong? Maybe the door is warped? Thanks for any pro tips. Linda

Re: Pull Out Pantry Door Adjustment?

Did you try loosening the rods on the bottom drawer??

Otherwise try taking out the drawers-door unit and re-fitting back on, as it might not be sitting on the bottom rails properly.

See how you go.

Re: Pull Out Pantry Door Adjustment?

We are having this exact same problem! We've adjusted the rails, took off and reset the pullout, even switched it with the pullout next to it. It won't fit right anywhere and the 2 other pullouts fit correctly anywhere. Ack!! It's our last cabinet and it's driving us nuts!
*pout*
Any other suggestions? Prayers? Witchcraft? We'll take anything....

Re: Pull Out Pantry Door Adjustment?

So when you said you tried it on another pantry unit, was the door still sticking out on the other pantry frame??? or was the issue with pantry in question??

If you have already tried reseating the pull-out door and it is still not sitting right, try removing the drawer part (top & bottom) from the door and reseat the drawers (without the door attached). Check to make sure the actions are smooth and it retracts fully.

Then grab the door and put it next to the drawers to check if the brackets are set at the correct heights. The brackets can be loosened and minor height adjustments can be made. If bigger adjustments need to be made you may have a problem...and quite possibly need to get a new door (fingers crossed!).

If everything looks good, click the doors back onto the drawers (without removing the drawers from the pantry frame), but done attach the deep drawer rods at this stage. The drawers should retract just as they did without the door. If this is the case, then adjust the rod ends so that they are the right length of the drawer and re-attach the rods. Adjusting the rods while they are attached will affect the forward or back tilt of the door.

Hope this helps.

Re: Pull Out Pantry Door Adjustment?

I tried the door on another pantry frame and it didn't work there either.
So we did everything else you suggested (thank you!). Absolutely nothing worked. The best we can figure is that the door panel itself is warped. *sigh* The good news is that everything else: the drawers, the frame, etc. seems to be in good working order. So we'll just try replacing the door panel.
Thanks for the help!
