Ours is up and running, but I found one thing very strange. Being a close relative to Curious George, I thought I would ask.

The half-moon lazy susans can rotate enough to hit the inside of the panel that covers the hidden opening of the cabinet. I didn't install the lazy susan and DS says there were no bumpers of any sort included, which I found very odd.

Now luckily, we got double the bumpers we needed for our corner uppers, so I used two of those.

So, do they come with bumpers and we didn't get ours, (or lost them), or has the usually ever-practical IKEA simply overlooked this?

Wondering in Canada

Hi--We have that cabinet and we did not get any bumper pad things specifically for it. We are still in the construction stage so we haven't used it yet--so I never thought of that. I think the little extra clear ones will do the trick though.

There are no bumpers included with the half lazy susan - IKEA probable figured that no-one will ever see the inside of the panel...

Martine - could you use a couple of these Rationell soft-close bumpers that are madeto buffercabinet door closing? I'm not sure there's a way to attach it, but it might work if you could drill a hole and mount it in the panel that's being hit.

kcmg,

It could have been done, but would have been a little more involved.

It would have been tricky to line those up with one of the wires on the basket, so we probably would have had to add a small plate to ensure contact. Also, the panel is 5/8" thick, so not sure how stable it would have been. Then there's the installation itself. DS would have had to crawl into the cupboard

We did put them on all our doors, though, and love them. I think there's a mod on here somewhere for installing one for a drawer and I plan to do that for my cutlery drawer.

In theory, come June, replacement rails for the Rationell drawers with integrated soft-close hardware will be available - no pricing info, though.

How about using a piece of medium or high density foam and gluing it to the panel where the lazy susan hits? Not very elegant but out of sight...

I may wait, but then again, I may not: we have several of the soft-close bumpers left over.

For the half-moon, I used two of the extra half-sphere bumpers that came with the 25" corner uppers. They dampen the 'arrival' enough that the sound is greatly reduced.

I got creative in installing them, tho': I rolled a piece of tape and stuck the bumpers, adhesive side out, to the middle wire of the basket, them pushed them 'til the bumper was against the panel. When I pulled away, the bumper stayed put and the tape stayed with the basket. They do say if you want to find the quickest, best way to do something, give it to a lazy perfectionist ...

On my last visit to IKEA, the replacement rails were available in Woodbridge . They are $19.99 -- kinda steep in my book for rails that go with drawers that cost less than that. I think that at least one of the drawer units we picked up had it integrated, but some of the other (AS-IS room) drawers were still without. Never one to pass up a $5 Blum drawer, I snatched them up anyway...

I kinda resemble that remark about the lazy perfectionist. I'm not sure how you know me so well....

Susan

We never find juicy stuff like drawers in the As-Is. Lots of doors/drawer fronts, end panels and shelves, though...we've saved some bucks on those for extras/projects.
Almost got our sink for $50, but the small bowl was on the wrong side :?

Actually, I was looking in the mirror (hence the  lol)
