Perfekt Wine Shelf Problem
It's day 1 of our wall cabinet installation and we have a problem with our Perfekt Wine rack. We have three 30 inch by 39 tall wall cabinets in a row with a wine 15 by 39 inch wine rack at the end. Since this would fill the entire area from wall to wall we ran the rail from one wall to the other. Unfortunately the wine rack sticks up about 1/2 inch taller than all the other cabinets.

How do we fix this?? Take down all the cabinets and lower the rail for the wine cabinet only? We mangled some screws putting the rail in so getting it off may be a little tricky.

There are really no studs behind this wine rack so we would have to use dry wall anchors....

How could Ikea over look this detail - at least give us a disclaimer.

As you found out the hard way the wine rack (and plate rack) require the suspension rail to be 1/2" lower than usual...I would cut off the rail (sawsall) and remount the rail for the wine rack (drywall anchors will be OK, as you can fasten the rack to the last cabinet).

We all can't get over how this is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions...

We just couldn't bear to take down the other cabinets to cut the rail etc. We took down the wine cabinet and ended up taking the back off and then moving the moving the bracket up 1/2 inch (drilled new holes etc.).

It seems to have worked, although there is no wine in the rate yet...

i like your solution penny. drives me crazy that these (and the horizontals, fwiw) are on a different track system.
i'm hoping that this changes in the next catalog.
