I am in the kitchen planning process. IKEA has a microwave oven(snabb) with extractor filter. I understand it can be placed above a range. How does the oven get's attached to the cabinets/walls?

I've picked Acurum line. It has wall cabinets for microwave ovens. Would you need to cut out openings on the bottom of the cabinet for the fan or is there some other way?

Have you had experience with this particular microwave+fan model?

Over the range microwaves (usually placed over a range, but sometimes not) are mounted onto a bracket secured to the wall behind, and then bolted through the bottom of the cabinet above.

The microwave cabinet with shelf is designed for use with countertop microwaves. These are different than the over the range microwaves.
