Overall, I am pleased with the amount of birch cabinet box showing through. It is not as noticeable as I thought it might be.
However, on the corner cabinet it's VERY noticeable. Is this how it is supposed to be?

Second problem: My ceiling slopes above the fridge cabinet. Its almost5/8" difference over three feet. Any suggestions on how to level this out with trim etc?
Attached photo shows the cabinet, just hanging level at this point - has not been pushed up and bolted down yet.

1. You should have a 1/2 thick half domed shape door bumper...actually 2, I think. They go on the corner cabinet door to hold it proud of the box by well, 1/2". This helps to bring the door in line with the other doors, and in doing so, it helps to hide the gap. If you need a picture, give a shout and I'll see what I can dig up...I've got a backlog of photos to go up on the site that I just haven't had time to get up yet. Beyond that, it's just adjusting with the hinges -- see the FAQ on the Fansite if you need help with this part.
2. Scribe a piece of cover panel, cut it to size and slap it up there. You'll never notice it once you have the doors on, well...when the doors are closed anyway. Even when they're open, it's not going to be a big deal. Live in it for a few months, and I bet you'll forget it's even there.
Hope that helps!
Susan

Thanks Susan - great ideas. I did see those white bumpers but hadn't done anything with them yet. I'll post some update pics.
