Did I screw this up?

Should I have added an end panel between the corner cabinet and the cabinet next to it? You can see the birch base end and at a certain angle you an even see in the corner cabinet.

Re: Did I screw this up?

I believe there's a special clear rubber bumper you need to use that makes the door align properly...but I'm going to move this thread to Assembly and Installation so you can get the proper help!

Re: Did I screw this up?

There is a bumper, but it's not clear. It's white and is about 3/4" in diameter - larger than the clear silicone bits that come with the regular Integral hinges.

As for the panel, you probably should have put one in there for the top of the corner cabinet, but you can still do that now. Just use a 33" panel and cut it down to size - it should be about a 9" piece when your finished.

Re: Did I screw this up?

That pic is with the white bumpers installed as the instructions called for. This is what worries me. It bugs me that you can see so much of the base through the door and it is unsightly. Surely someone else has encountered this.

I do have cover panels going at the top also. I was just wondering if a full panel would have covered that gap. But then a full panel would throw me off at the end. /bleh

Jonny

It is hard to tell from the photo if it is just the camera angle. But to me it looks like the doors could be adjusted a bit. It seems the gap at top is greater then the gap at the bottom, then again it could be the camera angle.

At top you can not see in the cabinet at bottom you can.

Re: Did I screw this up?

The full panel would actually give you less coverage than the adjacent door - the panel only covers about half of the door, whereas if your doors are adjusted properly, adjacent doors line up almost edge to edge.

The problem with the corner door (it's an old complaint, and probably the single biggest one I hear about the IKEA system) is that it has to be a little narrower and sit off the face of the cabinet a little more than the rest of the doors in order for it to open properly - it's a matter of geometry that can't be over come.

And it's the door on the left that looks like it needs adjusting - corner seems fine.
