The cams (the little things with the plus and minus) should have the arrow pointing to the edge closest, which means it is unlocked. Most IKEA stuff uses the cams and bolts along with some wood pegs to hold adjacent sides together, so they should come apart with a good bang. Use a rubber mallet. Then the side should slip off, unless of course, someone used glue on the wood dowels.
