I need help- one piece is locked in and I can't unlock it- how do I get it out? And another piece, it looks like the spring has already sprung. I am at my wits end (possible because I am in New Orleans, possible just because I am sorry I went to Ikea) Please advise. Please

avieshlomo -- Welcome to the forums!

What you need is the FAQ on removing that drawer front. Here's the link: http://www.ikeafans.com/FAQDisassembleDrawer.htm

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "the spring has already sprung"...can you elaborate?

Susan

Oh, one caveat...the directions work if you're looking at the right side of the drawer box...if you're on the left side, then turn the other direction.

Hope that helps!

Susan thank you so much. It worked for the stuck one.
For the second one, what I mean is when I push in the drawer frot there is no click. Nothing happens. do I need to reprime the drawer to get it ready to catch the drawer front (I actually am now having this problem with the drawer I just released.)
thank you, thank you, this has been a bit of salve on the very frustrating day

Hmmm...I'm not sure. You can try jiggling things a bit. I didn't have this problem, so I don't know if I can trouble shoot for you. Is this a metal drawer front (for the pull-out pantries) or a drawer front that matches your doorstyle?

Metal drawer hinge thing- for the Linjar door fronts. the others clicked in so easily, and there is the spring loaded part, so I thought maybe the spring is in the down position? And maybe there is way to push it up to get it ready to receive the metal pegs?

You can try sticking the screwdriver back in there and turn the opposite way from what you just did. I can try to replicate the problem on my drawers if you continue to have trouble -- just let me know. Try the screwdriver.

And...Linjar? We'd love to see pictures! We're kinda nosy that way....

Susan-
It's contagious-
three of the drawers have metal pieces that are essentially blocking the drawer from from entering and thereby catching. I've been trying to lift it back into place, but there must be a better way, something on the side again. Essentially the metal catch is already in the position it would be in if the drawer were locked into place, preventing the drawer from entering.
I would love nothing more than to show pictures, but I've got these last two cabinets to finish, and then, out with the camera.

Huh. I've never heard of this problem. Let me see if I can replicate it and find a fix. If not, then hopefully someone else who has more experience with naughty drawers will come along.

i've had the issue, it's as if the drawer front is installed yet it's not. you fix it like you would uninstall the front, screwdriver on the side twist thing from the FAQ, just like you got the drawer front off.

sorry you're having issues, blum hardware is normally so good and easy (and hyper expensive upgrade at most stores, yet standard at IKEA )

hopefully the rest of your install will go smoothly and you will no longer regret your decision
