Hi all. Searching the forums I believe there are drawers for the 12 7/8 cabinets. I hope I am correct???
I'm still in early planning stage to use AKURUM to build out office cabinets and have a few follow-up questions:
+ I take it I can actually order the lower level bits and pieces that make up a single cabinet? For example, I would like to build a credenza out of 12 7/8 deep 18" wide base cabinets with a single short (aka shallow) drawer and a single door and then some shelves. So can I just order:
- 12 7/8 deep 18 wide base cabinet
- 18 wide short drawer front
- short drawer
- door front sized appropriately
+ Is there a more detailed Ikea document other than the "Kitchen System" 12 pager and the glossy "Ikea Kitchens" catalog? I'd really like a detailed list of prices and options and SKUs, if only to double check any order driven from software and tweaks like above.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike, it is true that you can order just about all the parts separately. There aretwoinfo sheetsthat help a lot with customizing. Ask for them at the desk in the kitchen department. One is called"all kitchen doors and drawer fronts" and the other is called "organizing your cabinet order"
But, I think that the drawers for the 12 7/8 D cabinetsmight be meant to go inside of the cabinets.

mikeorb -- If you go to the Cabinets page on the Fansite side (click on Home in the upper right corner, then look for Cabinets), you'll see 8 links at the top of the page for this years component list. I think I also have the "doors and drawer fronts" price list, but that's from last year.
The only thing I'm not sure of is the 12 7/8" thing...as far as I know, the 12" cabinet is 12" dead on. It's an inside measurement of 10 1/2". Is this the Akurum kitchen system, or the Effectiv office line or other?

GardenOfDarwin, I have the 8 pager. It only has complete cabiets in various configurations, not components. I could not find the "doors and drawer fronts" price list on http://www.ikeafans.com/cabinet_basics.htm.
I'm going to grab the "all kitchen doors and drawer fronts" and "organizing your cabinet order" nyc_home mentioned. I could scan it in for you to post when I get it.
For 12 7/8" I was refering to the depth of the cabinet. They have base cabinet configurations in this and of course wall cabinets are this depth.
Thanks!!
Mike

Ah...depth. Well, as you can see, my brain isn't working fast tonight. Here's the link for the door and drawer fronts. It's on a different page -- the Door Styles page. Anyway...here it is: http://www.ikeafans.com/doorpricelist.htm . As for the scanning offer, I'd love it!
Thanks! And welcome!

Hi Mike,
You would need to order 18x30" wall cabinets and attach these to the wall using the Akurum suspension rail (#846.754.00) which actually makes the installation a snap - you don't need legs at all (unless you want to close off the underside of the cabinets with toekick - but legs are not required to support the cabinet).
The shallow 12" deep drawers (#101.089.29) will work with the 18" drawer front, they are soft-closing as well. The door required is 18x24". Don't forget wall cover panels if the ends of the credenza are visible.

My wife went up to Ikea today and was able to get the "Storage Solutions For Your Kitchen" brochure. I have scanned it in and uploaded as a single PDF to:
http://orb.dreamhost.com/xfer/ikea/2...-Solutions.pdf
The file is somewhat large at 2.75M (300 dpi). It has been "OCR"d so you can search within it. I'll keep this here for at least a couple of years, so admins feel free just to link to it. Or copy it. I don't have a preference.
My scanner software is pretty basic so the scan is kind of dungy. Sorry.
The Ikea associate did not cough up a drawer brochure -- was not aware of it or was out at the time. I'm going to call and also write ikea.com and request they put all these brochures online. It is rather silly we have to work so hard to hunt down this basic information.
Regards,
Mike

torrus, thanks for the advice. I could not find drawers appropriate for the 12 7/8" deep cabinets in the 2007 "Storage Solutions For Your Kitchen" brochure I just uploaded.

Boy, that scanning was a waste of time. Ikea Customer Service responded promptly and professionally to my e-mail request for PDFs of catalogs :-). Actually, I asked for the famous "doors and drawer fronts" price list but instead got AKURUM and others. I sent these to the Webmaster for posting.

Thanks Mike! I'll get them up tonight or tomorrow, depending on the availability of Tigger's computer -- mine likes to eat the navigation whenever I make changes to the Fansite side. It's a real PITA that I like to avoid.
