Hello!

I figured I'd burn the midnight candle tonight as I rush to get my mother's kitchen closer to completion. Her new granite countertop was installed yesterday, and now I'm trying to work on getting her cabinet doors installed before the end of the weekend.

Question: Are there supposed to be screws to secure the Integral 130 hinges into the cabinet doors? My Integral bags come with the two hinge parts (complete with screws for the cabinet), but I don't see screws for the door itself. Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you! Kevin

No screws for the door~the holes in the door are for lining up the hinge. Little prongs fit in the holes and straighten it. The instructions are pretty clear about "no screw needed" b/c it really seems like there should be a screw until you put the first hinge together.

The Blum compression fit hinges will never come off. They are great. Just pop in and lock down!

Thank you!

I didn't realize that snapping the metal bracket down would expand the circular ring inside the cabinet door cutout hole. How ingenious of IKEA!

Now I have another question. It seems that after I've installed the cabinet doors into the cabinets using these Integral 130 hinges, that some of the screws have started to come loose. They seem to have loosened from the small white plastic "screw covers" now that they're screwed into the cabinet. I assume I'll be able to stop by my local IKEA to pick up replacements for these small white plastic "screw covers," but how can I prevent this from happening again? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi mctwist!

When I installed my hinges in the cabinet frame, I left the screws in the plastic plugs (inthat half of the hinge)and tapped them in with a rubber mallet. I then tightened them securely into the cabinet frame. They should bebe very firm in the plastic plug as it works like a poly wall anchor does in drywall giving something for the screw to grip. Mine have not come loose at all. I have had to loosen and tighten them several times for up and down adjustment/alignment. I presume they won't tight any more if you try?

I have never seen those white plastic inserts in the achor section of the hardware store. They may be some type of hinge specific hardware-with the square heads that fit in the slot of the hinge. I never had to look for them before...
