cover panel or dishwasher install, which is first

Hi!

Our dishwasher is at the end of a row and we are installing a cover panel. I have the panel and understand that I need to get L brackets to install it. I cannot figure out though whether we should hook up the dishwasher first, then put the panel on (it seems that this would make it very difficult to screw on the L brackets) or put the panel on first and hook up the dishwasher, which seems like it would make it pretty hard to hook up the dishwasher.

I was thinking I would use brackets to attach the cover panel to the back wall and the floor, then install dishwasher??? Or should brackets be used to attach it to the plywood sub-countertop???

Any advice on this? Much appreciated!!

I had this same situation. Put the cover panel on first, then the dishwasher. If you do it the other way around, you'll never get in there to screw thigns together. Dishwashers are made to be slid in after the cabinets around them are in, so that's not a big deal.

We used L brackets to attach the panel to the floor, and used a cleat (like a piece of 1x2 to attach it to the wall and the countertop above. It's very sturdy.

We did the cover panel install first. We used L brackets to attach to back wall and floor and it is mighty sturdy.
