I am about 2/3rd complete with my
Akurum system. I had to lag into a brick wall. That in itself deserves its own thread and discussion.
The wall cabinets are up. I am working on the base cabinets and the appliances now. The bottom part of the wall is stone so I really have about zero chance of lagging into stone, so I am going to go with the four feet and not the wall board. I will also be installing the solid wood countertop.
Here's my challenge: I am installing a Domjso sink as an end piece (right side. I have a dishwasher to the left of the sink. So there are no cabinets on either side of the sink for support.
Question 1: do I need some sort of support board on the side of the dishwasher (inbetween the dishwasher and the sink) to keep it steady? Or can i just attach it to the countertop?
To make things even more interesting, I had a plumber install the sink for me. He put the sink top on the base cabinet BEFORE I knew I had to put the countertop on. Naturally. So now, the sink top sits directly on the top of the base cabinet. Everything is bolted together and the holes for the water supply and the drain are already drilled in the base cabinet.
Question 2: Should I uninstall the sink (fair amount of unbolting, etc.) in order to put the countertop in on the left side (on top of the dishwasher)?
If the answer to question 2 is 'YES', then what do I do about the gap on the RIGHT side between the top of the base cabinet and the sink ledge? The sink is an end piece and there is NOTHING for the right side of the sink to rest on if I lift the sink to accomodate the countertop on the left? Make sense? Good. Please explain to me.

Seriously, though, should I cut a small sliver of countertop to take up the space?
If the answer to question 2 is 'NO', then the countertop on the left will sit about 1/2 higher than the sink top. Is there a graceful way to make that transition? This is the least amount of work, but it may look funky.
Also, if NO, then the metal supports will likely have to sit a little lower in the cabinet than if the sink rests on the countertop. Right? Is the sink supposed to touch the metal support braces or are they just meant to keep the sides of the cabinet from spreading apart?
Also, if NO, what about mounting the doors on the front of the base cabinet? Will I be able to install the doors to swing open?
Finally, question 3: there are a set of toggle bolts that come with the sink. Where in creation do they go? The picture in the instructions is not clear at all. In fact, it only has an arrow that points to the underside of the sink. Do they toggle in the hole that is in the middle of the side? DO I have to tap my own holes in the side to accomodate the screws?
And, YES, in case you were wondering the ENTIRE project has been this complicated. Don't even get me started on the electrical and masonry work I had to do before I could install the base cabinets. All, in all a good learning experience, but Oy!
I could probably attach a few pictures if that might help.
