Drilling holes for hardware - awesome product
A friend picked me up these template-type things for drilling the holes in the doors to attach our hardware. I believe they were only a few dollars each (under $5) at Lowe's...
Here's a link to the manufacturer's site:
http://www.laurey.com/collections/perfect-mount.php
They proved invaluable and I don't know what I would have done without them (aside from building a jig).
And of course I'm not affiliated with the company, just found this product to be a huge time saver! Still, I checked all my measurements 2-3 times from different edges/angles/etc... No more Hallarum to be found!

Hey thanks for the tip. We have one of these, but I think it's by a different manufacturer. IKEA also makes one called FIXA - clever, huh? One thing to consider is that I think IKEA's is sized for IKEA's pulls which have metric sizing. I think the one we have is only in Imperial/English measurements. Worth a check!

unfortunately ikea's fixa doesn't work with all of ikea's hardware/knobs so double check your choice against it before you buy it. if i knew all the names of my pulls/knobs i'd tell you the 3 out of 4 that it HASN'T worked for!

We didn't use IKEA pulls - got them from coolknobsandpulls.com, so they are standard sized - 3" (?) and 5" apart for the 2-hole pulls. But the placement we chose for the t-bar pulls was marked 40x50mm, I believe.
It was a bit of a pain to measure out the exact center of the cabinets and drawers (not too much) because all the doors/drawer fronts are some measurement and 13/16" (14 13/16" for the 15" cabinets, for example).

Re: Drilling holes for hardware - awesome product
the fixa templace, 99 cents, is fabulous for the Lansa handles- four holes in on both sides aligned horizontally. I used 6 holes deep from the door edge for my horizontal pulls, but that is personal taste. Highly recommend this!

Re: Drilling holes for hardware - awesome product
Will the FIXA template work for templating new holes for aftermarket blum hinges? I modified two cabs and have yet to put the hinges on because I'm afraid I'll screw up the hole placement without a template...
Thanks,
Josh

the fixa template does NOT work for the Korrekt knobs, but it does work for the handles.
i've decided to use all handles, no knobs

Re: Drilling holes for hardware - awesome product
Doesn't seem to work for the Strecket, not that they're hard ones to do (and not that I've installed any yet -- but they hang off the top or side or bottom of the door, so it's just a matter of placement). But the holes don't match up.
