You'll want an open expanse of flooring, good knees and
your tools at hand (you really only need a hammer and the hex key/allen wrench, but a few additional items makes it go faster). You'll want to start with your wall cabinets.
Open the first box for the first cabinet in a logical starting point in your kitchen (corner, not the middle). Lay all the pieces out flat. Locate the instruction sheet and pay close attention to the drawings. There are details, such as which piece has the finished edge, and which one should have the routed edge which are not evident on first glance. Then, closely follow the steps given in the instructions. (One of these days, I'm going to order a cabinet just so I can document the process in pictures...but alas. We're not there yet.)
The first one will take you an inordinate amount of time, and you'll probably let out a few curse words in the process. You'll hateall thoselittle idiotgraphs. By the 2nd or 3rd cabinet, though you'll be whipping through them. It will actually be disappointing when you're done and you'll miss your new little stick friend.
Keep in mind that floorspace will shrink as you assemble cabinets, so don't do more than you need to in order to keep ahead of your installers. Then, haveyour beverage of choice. You deserve it. Share it with your stick friend.
