Has anyone bought any faucets from Ikea especially the bagvik? In the process of putting it together for installation I noticed that the supply lines that came with it just don't make any sense to me. The ends of the supply lines cannot fit onto a regular 3/8 in. shutoff valve. However I believe you can connect them directly to a 1/2 in. pipe without the shutoff valve but this would be ridiculous.

I just replied to another post on this board about their faucets. It seems it's a common problem with those of us who didn't know that they use a non-standard fitting on the supply lines. I wish they'd include some verbiage in their catalog about the supply lines size.

I purchased the ALSVIK faucet, but be careful, I don't think it's 1/2". I think it's 5/8". I spend 2 hours in Home Depot and Lowes trying to find a suitable connection and I came up empty. I'm looking into specialty plumbing warehouses that might have a connector or series of connectors so I can make this work.

I just answered this one in another thread. See Hujvik Faucet.

Basically, it uses "S.J." connectors. I replaced my shutoff valves with new ones for about $20 from http://www.plumbingsupply.com.
