Help! What is the width of cover panels?

I need an answer quickly as I'm supposed to tell the contractor tomorrow where to place a window in the kitchen.

How much space (width) do I allow for a refrigerator cover panel? In the IKEA kitchen planner it's listed as 5/8" wide but I noticed several people on this site said to allow for 1/2" inch. I know that's not a big difference but I'd like to be as precise as possible. Anyone know for sure or can measure one for me?

If the panel is 36 x 96" it is 5/8" thick, the cabinet cover panels are 1/2" thick.

Torrus - Thanks a lot. That clears things up for me. I'm really learning that I can't rely on the IKEA kitchen planner software as it is sometimes incomplete or inaccurate.

The kitchen window gets put in today and the wall is cut for the stove vent so cross your fingers that we measured everything accurately.
