how to install oven panel trim for built in cabinet?

Hi all:
Our kitchen assembly is coming along beautifully.
We are installing a built-in mocrowave and built-in oven in the high canbinet and received an oven panel to finish off the trim. When I bought the oven and microwave I hadn't really thought about details like straight edges, etc. and now I am stuck with the GE Profile appliances and they have an arced top.

My question is this, Am I supposed to be affixing the appliance's trim on top of the IKEA oven panel trim or installing it so it is below the oven panel trim? Am I making sense? So, if I affixed them to the panel, they would stick out a bit from the side profile. Or, should they lay flat, in which case I have the squeeze the panel into the little acred space at the top of the microwave and oven.

I will try to post a pic this evening b/c as I write this I can see this makes no sense.

Sigh.

I believe the trim goes on top of the panel, so you have the trim as the finished look. What does the installation procedure for the appliance trim say? Maybe that will give you some insight?

i'd love to tell you eva, but i'm here and everything else is at mom's... but i finally found the cover panel instructions and i'm feeling more confident. Doesn't help that today the electrician killed the double electric ovens which were delivered this morning We now have to find a single gas oven and possibly a micro/convection... but $$ is a concern on the latter. i have to remind her minute by minute that she is moving!
anyway, sorry to hijack the thread. i'm sure everything will look less stressful tomorrow. my full day off! (until she calls w/an emergency)

Hi Dulci.

The oven panel comes with brackets to attach it to the cabinet.

The appliance trim almost fills the space, but would look better with Adel MB panel on the top.

Because this issue is a detail that will require a lot of metal energy, we have just left it as is for now.

Let me know if and when you get to it what you decided to do.
