I went to Burbank IKEA this morning and bought my first cabinet. The IKEA kitchen lady looked at my design and pointed out that I do not have enough clearance for fridge. Back to design again... But I bought one wall cabinet I know for sure won't change.

I took home a 30" X 39" frame, 2 Karsebo Beech doors, one long hanging rail, and 2 bags of hinges. I now know why hundreds of packages arepossible if one orders a whole kitchen. With my simple order like this, they still missed one item. After I pointed out and waited for another 20 minutes, I went home happy.

Athome Ibegan assembling the 30" X 39" birch frame. I accidentally chippedthe sidea little. Wife is not happy, but she got over it since we will have a side panel for Karsebo Beech later.

I have few screws left. Thereare twopair of srews (two male, two female) which I do not know what function they serve.

I borrowed the two pictures below; one from Susan, and one from Bret's website to showwhat are in Bret's picture, but not in Susan's.

I know Bret used 2 1/2" deck screws to put up the hanging rail, so I need to do to HomeDepot for those. I know the ones from Susan's picture are to hang the cabinets. But I do not know whatthe extra srews showing in Bret's picture are used for.

Please advise.

Hi,

From what I remember what was included in the wall package, the hardware in the top picture is to hang the cabinets to the suspension rail. The others in thepackage were to drill through cabinets and bolt (gang) cabinets together with. I don't remember having anything else in the package.

Hope this helps!

See DeDe? Not stupid.

She's right -- those screws (male and female parts) are for attaching your cabinets together. Not an issue at the moment as you have only the one. Later, when they get happy and multiply (parts, right?), you'll have multiple cabinets that will gain strength from being ganged together. You will do this after getting them all assembled and mounted on the wall. Once you know everything is square, straight, level, plumb and in the right place, you'll drill holes through the sides of the cabinets in shelf pin holes and slip those babies in and tighten them up.

Simple and yet baffling. I was there too.

The hex head bolts go through the square blocks with the hex head opening. That slides into the suspension rail, bolt sticking out. The bolt goes through the metal bracket at the top of each cabinet side. The keyhole plate goes over the bolt and the metal bracket, then the keyhole positioned with the smaller opening over the bolt and the nut tightens everything down.

And when you're done installing all the cabinets, you'll fill a little storage bin with all the extras. I spent one clearly OCD hour sorting mine into little bins when we were all done. I know I'm not the only one, so let us know if there's anything you're missing!
