30" Ge Profile Wall Oven in a 30" High Cabinet

Hey guys, the electrican hooked up my wall oven and went to install it... and it doesn't fit.. by approx 1/4inch or even 1/2inch.. what do i do? gouge out the wood? it seems to only have a problem at the front frame of the oven. like max 2inches of gouging required.? it's width accord to the ge site is 29 3/4"

i also plan on installing a large microwave above it. Outside Dimensions (WxHxD)23 7/8 x 14 13/16 x 19 5/16

the oven is H 28 1/4" W 29 3/4" D 23 1/2"

what height should i install these two? i'm 6'1 but the wife is 5'3

welcome to my world this week. 30" is the outside dimensions, take 1.5" off for interior space, then you've got the issue of cm vs. in

i took my high cabinet back (course i hadn't assembled it yet when i figured out the mistake) and i built a cabinet sorta. but mine was in an alcove alone so i could be creative. i know chuck has been successful in these types of installs....
hopefully he can weigh in on it.

as for the heights, my brain is fried, i'm not doing suppositions right now

Cutout Width 28 1/2
" Min.
28 5/8
" Max.

actually this is what the manual says

what am i missing?? the ****ed thing just barely doesn't fit and on the left hand side there is a wall so i can't see exactly how much i'm off by. i'd say its even less than what i stated earlier.. ball park 1/4 or less

Hmm...could you post a pic?

The reason I ask is because we have a GE 30" wall oven (JT912) in a 88" high oven cabinet (30" wide) and it fits beautifully.

We also have the ge microwave on top

which is what it looks like you will be doing.

Are you sure you are not trying to push the outside frame in?

Pic.

Hey, I think mine is a 915. I'll double check and snap a picture later tonight. I sure wish it fit as i'd like to try a couple different heights before i decided. And if i have to score in the side to get it to fit then i certainly want to be sure of the height i'm installing it in.

What height did you install it at? do you have a micro above it?

Hi again.

I am not at home so will have to answer more precisely tomorrow.
We have the GE profile microwave with trim kit installed above it and both fit wonderfully.

I seem to recall that the black part was bolted to the inside.
The stainless extra piece on the bottom sits outside the cabinet.

I will post again tomorrow. Do not despair though, I am sure we can make this work!

great thanks! i'll be home at lunch and get a picture taken to post on here. If you wouldn't mind letting me know how high you placed your oven and such. maybe even taking a picture if possible?

I was thinking of dropping the height of the oven some and instead of a 24"door underneath installing a 12" drawer. and... yea. the and lol. i'm not sure. =)

the panasonic micro/convection i bought with the trim kit. I'm thinking i'll likely use it more often than the oven since it's convection also. That's why i'm worried that it might be too high to use. thanks!

I will post specifics tomorrow but...

off the top of my head I know the microwave is at my height and I am 5'7".
from the bottom up we have:

1. One deep drawer
2. A 4" open space we use for bed and tea trays
3. 30" GE Oven
4. GE microwvae with trim kit
5. 2 Doors (I thin they are 24" high?)

Hubby is 6'2" and I am 5'7" and the microwave is at my eye level.
