Malm Bed with Hamar Mid-Beam

I've been through this before and it's frustrating to say the least. Basically, I have my bed put together with the (HAMAR) mid-beam in place, but it is not on level with the side bars. The slats sit in the frame at an angle that apexes over the HAMAR mid-beam. I remember there being a trick to this the last time, which was about two years ago, and I've even spoken with the people who helped me put it together, but noone seems to be able to remember what we had to do to make everything line up. Perhaps I'm being goofy here- and I know images would help, but I'm not with the bed right now- but I just want to get my bed put together. I'm almost positive someone out there has to have had this problem before as well. Any info is greatly appreciated. I really don't want to wait for IKEA to send me instructions as the closest one is in Atlanta- I'm in Tampa, Florida.

Hi! Welcome to IKEAFANS!

I don't know if this will help, but there is a thread talking about the Hamar mid-beam here: Use of mid-beam

Maybe Chuck will happen along...he seems to know everything there is to know about IKEA bed assembly. Good Luck!

Susan

Re: Malm Bed with Hamar Mid-Beam

I am facing the same problem, the slats apex at the mid-beam. Can you please share the solution to this problem?

Thanks
