Is it possible to use an Akurum high cabinet as a freestanding piece (not mounted to the wall)? I'd like to use one to store things in my office. The one I'm interested in is 24" x 80" x 12" deep and has two doors, no drawers. It would be positioned against a wall (but not flush, because of the "molding" trim at the base of the wall).
It's possible, yes but scary. Those pantries are extremely heavy and to not mount them to a wall or something is dangerous IMO

Thanks, in that case I won't attempt it. I wonder if I use the 8" Numerar legs, I might be able to get the back of the cabinet against the wall and mount it flush, despite the molding trim along the base of the wall. Do you think this might work?
I left my baseboard molding in my kitchen in tact and have a high cabinet in there. You just have to measure the moulding and buy the appropriately sized legs. For us, the regular 4" legs were enough to clear it, but if you have really big molding, you'd have to go higher.
The 24x80x12" pantry is like a wall cabinet - designed to 'hang' from the suspension rail - you can install it with the rail at any height and then use the 8" legs at the front for extra stability.
