Is it too late to install false drawer front & lazy susan?
Hi all,
I know I should have read the directions more carefully but....... We had our kitchen countertop installed yesterday (yay!) and although my DH had been urging me to attach doors and drawers, I stalled. Now that I'm ready to do it I have read that I was supposed to install the "not-so-motivated" susan and the false drawer fronts BEFORE the counters were installed. It's a granite countertop, so it's not coming out. Has any one surmounted these problems before?
Also, I was thinking I could just use a regular drawer front that I got in As-Is for the false drawer front for our 24" & 30" sink cabinets. But when I just read about the false drawer fronts on this forum, it sounds as if they are different than the regular drawer fronts and have their own hardware. I'm going to ask at IKEA if I can get that hardware from them. Has anyone else done this?
Thanks!

Re: Is it too late to install false drawer front & lazy susan?
I just started writing a whole answer then realized I don't know if you have a drop in or an undermounted sink. It it's a drop in and the sink isn't yet installed then you shouldn't have a problem installing the false fronts. If you have an undermounted and it's already there 'cause the counters are there, then you've made it a bit more difficult for yourself.
And to answer at least one of your questions...The false drawer fronts are the same as regular drawer fronts. Their just "false" because there is no drawer behind them.

Re: Is it too late to install false drawer front & lazy susan?
The "susans" can still be installed without too much trouble.
The false drawer fronts can also still go in, but, as CG said, it will just be a little more difficult due to the sink creating a tighter squeeze. But I've had to remove and reinstall the fronts after the sink is in, and it's not an insurmountable problem.

Thanks Chuck & climbergrrl. That's encouraging. We do have undermounted sinks so I guess it will be a hassle but not impossible. How nice to know that my disorganization won't have dire consequences.

Re: Is it too late to install false drawer front & lazy susan?
If you have a cordless drill with a magnetic bit tip, or even just a magnetic tipped hand screwdriver, this task will be MUCH easier. And while I don't necessarily believe that size matters, it will also help to have a driver or extension of about 6".
