Corner Wall Cabinet Gap - Help!

We just got done installing all of our wallcabinets. Yippieh!

We have Aedel Medium Brown.

The cabinets are Birch colored, the doors and the coverpanels Medium Brown.

For some reason there is a gap between the cabinet and the door and the light birch is peeking out.

My husband called IKEA about this issue and a lady there told him that they hear about this issue all the time!

She suggested to buy some coverstrip at Home Depot or Lowes...
Did anyone here have the same problem?
Is what i am asking making any sense? If not then i can post a picture later on tonight.

Thanks!

Re: Corner Wall Cabinet Gap - Help!

The only way to avoid the birch frame showing on the corner wall cabinet is to apply your own edging to the cabinet and staining it to match the Adel MB...this is due to the design of the cabinet .

Re: Corner Wall Cabinet Gap - Help!

Have you put on the little round door bumpers? They help the door stand a little further away from the cabinet, hiding the birch colored cabinet box some.

It is a common problem and some have put darker edgebanding on all their cabinets when using the darker doorstyles. For some reason the angle on the wall corner cabinet makes it more noticeable there.

Lordi!

Had I know about this I'm sure we would have picked Birch instead of Medium Brown! That would have also saved us from attaching all the coverpanels...

Does anyone have suggestions on which edging to use?
Has anyone here done this and can post some pictures?

There are lots of threads here about this, full of different solutions. I'll see if I can find a few:

Thanks Gloria! I did lots of searches but did not use the right words.
That is EDGE BANDING :-)
This will work great. I'm happy now.
