I have a smallindented space in my family room about 58" X 26"which I plan to make it a dry bar (no plumbing is available there). The area is surrounded by 3 walls. Iplan toinstall a 36" X 30" glass wall cabinet. On each end of the cab, I will have a 9" X 30" Perfekt 2 drawer unit (4 wine bottle slots at the top). There will be about 1" gap each side before the wall and I will fillthem with a strip later.

I have identified 3 studs which I can screw my suspension rail to. But since there is only one wall cabinet, and the Perfekt units are screwed on each side of thecab, the whole thing will rest on just the 2 bolts provided by the wall cabinet. The payloads are wine bottles, wine glasses and cabinet light. I worry about the weight.

Will the 2 bolts be strong enough to carry the full weight of the cabinet plus the 2 Perfekt units? What can I do to provide added support to this set up?I am thinking of addinga second section of suspension rail at 20" below the first. Drill 2 holes from the backboard and srew a second set of the hanging brackets, and bolt them. The AS IS room has extra hanging brackets...

What do you think?

OK. I have assembled the 36"wall cab and 2 Perfekt units. I weighed each piece: 1 cab + 2 doors + glass dividers + 2 Perfekt units. The total weight is 128.5 pounds. I am going to try with 2 bolts first. My Ikean told me that should be fine.

I will let you know if they will hold.

I'd guess that you should be fine. The wall cabinets are load tested for about 297 lbs, and that's mainly looking for sagging in the shelves. So you're safe up to another 168.5 lbs... I'm guessing the glasses won't add up to too much... So...That would be some HEAVY wine!

All of the 128.5 pounds are up on the wall now. They are held up by just the two bolts! Next week end: finish the 3 base cabinets underneath.

The bolts aren't so much the concern as the rail support itself - as long as you have it firmly attached to studs with the proper screws there shouldn't be any trouble.
