Hi,

I'm just double-checking how to install my double-ovens weighing over 300 lbs. into the Akurum HDO3088 cabinet. It comes with the Fixed Shelf 400-493-68 and a whole lot of screws (same type to screw in the drawers into the cabinet walls) and L-brackets. Is that fixed shelf and 6 screws the only thing between my ovens and the floor? Will that shelf support that kind of weight?

If so, why so many screws and L-brackets?

If I recall correctly, there is a heavier duty shelf and clips for the oven cabinet. I'll have to do some backtracking through the archived threads to find the exact information on it. Is the shelf you refer to the same as the other shelves in your units, or is it thicker/heavier?

It seems the same thickness as the other two shelves that came with the cabinet...Looking at the Draft Order, I have all of the parts for that cabinet and it only calls out for that one shelf.

I just placed my IKEA kitchen order and didn't request a special shelf for my double oven because I didn't know it might be needed and the person who input my order didn't seem very clued in, frankly. Anyone one else out there who has installed a double oven? What do you recommend?

I'm curious as well. My Mumsig double oven arrived yesterday, slightly damaged. I'm working with IKEA San Diego to see what they're going to do. Sent them photos and we'll see what develops from here. I will eventually be installing it into a 30" IKEA wall oven cabinet. I ended up with so much stuff at my house at once that it's difficult to find all the things I need to get this whole thing screwed together correctly. If there is a special shelf to take the extra weight, I'd sure like to know about it and make sure I put it in. I'm also curious as to what's supposed to go underneath the oven and what's supposed to go above it. I know I have some cabinets, shelves, drawers, etc. . . but at this point, I can't exactly remember what goes where.

Anyone with experience in this install please chime in here.
