help un-making a drawer?

so.... i'm happily making my 80cm wide, 3 drawer base unit. my 12 year old son is helping and it's all very harmonious....... untill i realise i've put the runner for the middle drawer on using the wrong screw hole. the result is that the drawer sits about one and a half cms too high. my question is, can i take the drawer off the runners and re- fit them? the drawer is fully fitted and i cant figure any way to get it off. i do have a vague memory of the kitchen fitter in our old house just clicking a drawer off in one easy, stress-free motion! help anyone?

Re: help un-making a drawer?

Pull the drawer all the way out, tilt it up slightly and continue to pull. That will release the wheels from the track and the drawer will come out. Move your runners and then tilt the drawer up and reset it in the tracks.

Also, make sure you haven't just put the drawer front on upside down. Here is how to take the front off if you have.
check out this tutorial: Getting the drawer front OFF
