Question Rail on top - how to bring back the level/plumb? - a rail on the bottom?

The hanging rail will push the top of a cabinet out by 12 mm (almost 1/2").
On long, say 39" cabs it might be small angle, but it will be bigger on 30", and bigger yet on 15" horizontals.
Do I shim it or just put a rail at the bottom too?
Do the side panels cover the gap?
How about stacking two horizontal cabinets - the edges will not line up unless something is done?
Should the rail be used on base cabinets?
Thanks for clarification.

The wall cabinets have a lip on the top and bottom to accommodate the rail and make the cabinet hang straight on the wall, so you won't have any tilting. As for the gap, the cover panels are sized to cover it. So, you're all set!

The only reason the wall cabinets won't hang plumb is that the walls aren't plumb (not uncommon). Typically, the walls are closer at the ceiling than the base. You can check it prior to installing. In that case, use shims either under the bottom lip or behind the rail. If you need to shim out the rail, tack a second rail where the bottom of the cabinets will be to get a place to setup the level.

Thanks Kristen - I somehow missed the lip on Ikea display kitchens - but I guess I did not see it because it is not supposed to be seen and is covered by the panel.
I am getting there, the old kitchen has been evacuated, the new floor was installed, and I am working on electric outlets and lights placement. Should start moving forward again next week. I'll report when cabinets start coming up.
Thanks to all for input.
