Thanks . I swear they are literally yummy--the red looks like tomato and the yellow looks like lemon and the gold looks like pumpkin, etc.. It was very hard to go to the tile warehouse and not buy some of everything!
We had a tough time with this question when tiling our shower.
The glass tiles people say using a latex modified thinset whereas the Schluter Kerdi product we lined our shower with say absolutely no latex modified. We went with no latex and had a lot of trouble with tiles not sticking. A real hassle.
They didn't slide, they just popped off after it was all dry.

Call around tile stores in your area, and ask. There are usually more tile places than you'd think. The latex-modified I used (and liked) was from "San Jose Tile" It seems pretty much the more "specialty" thinsets are found in dedicated stores.
Know what you're calling about - it makes the job easier - as in: latex-modified thinset for glass-tile application in bathroom/kitchen (v/s latex-modified for ceramic application on floor. Eg.)
You *can* order on line from some hardware places, but shipping is expensive.
I used a -trifling- amount of my 30-lb bag (Custom Building Prod. "MegaLite") for my little area, and sold the remainder to a friend who was doing her bathroom. (Her tile guy said the 90% bag would be enough to do the entire wall and tub surround - so it goes a long way)

Since I just finished my backsplash Tues. I'll jump in here. I was doing glass tiles as inserts and they are thinner that the other tile. I used 1/8" MDF cut to size and buttered both sides with white adhesive, then I grouted with white non-sanded and THEN I tinted the dryed grout with rit dye. Attached is the one tinted one not, and the whole backsplash.
