| My Story - Backsplash Seam Advice Desperately Needed
So I just ordered my STAT white kitchen last night. I picked out Livingstone tundra as the countertop (but I'm having buyers remorse and may switch to starry night or everglades by the time the installers show up to make the template).
My kitchen is going to kind of important because I'm living in a 4800 square foot open floor plan concrete floor factory building (built in 1903) with 60' ceilings (yes -- 60 foot) and original concrete/brick walls. I'm on a pretty tight budget and besides this place is a leased loft so it's going to be hard to get my money back on this if I ever decide to move. I'm also trying to get the cabinets done and hung in under 30 days (19 days left). I know it's going to take longer for the counters to be manufactured. My appliances are all stainless and I picked the large IKEA farmer's sink.
Anyway, I wanted to give you this back story because I'm kind of confused about the backsplash. STAT is kind of rustic, but I'm trying to bring it up modern with CAPITA legs ATTEST handles. I think a stainless back splash would also help that out. However, the stainless back splash pieces aren't long enough to cover the almost 15' straight run of counter top. I guess my first question is does IKEA offer something that will connect their stainless back splashes to each other or are they intended to just be glued up there with a seam left behind. Or do I need to look somewhere else for a solution for my back splash. Please remember that I think cheap (I mean inexpensive) is good; however, I also want it to look nice for my customers who will often visit my location (I'm a photographer).
