Non-random glass mosaic tile?

Has anyone ever tried to create regular patterns in tiny glass tiles? I'm thinking of using Kaleidoscope® Vitreous Glass Tile from http://www.mosaictilemarket.com/ and building a design around their snow white 13"x13" facemounted sheets. I will substitute just a few colored tiles for the white (at regular intervals) within the main sheet, then create a patterned border above using the white plus the same accent colors, taking my inspiration from quilt patterns. Accent colors will probably be two shades of green (walls in this room are pale green), & cimarron red. Cabinets will be white Stat with beech counters. What do you think? Thanks!

In our last house, we played around with broken floor tiles as a backsplash in the kitchen...it all started with the fireplace.

Very nice!

If we had a more open environment my husband has talked about how he'd like to do an asymetrical, freeflowing design like that.

I have never done this, but I found a great backsplash on flickr that uses the vitreous mosaic to create an argyle pattern. It looks fab!
