Dulci & C.B.,
All the things you mention are why the political group I was working with had their postcard campaign. I know at least one of the members received a direct response from Costco - maybe I should get that person to ask for a review of the location Costco has selected. But since the location has been announced it is probably too late for any changes.
We started our postcard petition just after the 2004 election, so it did not take all that long for Costco to decide to move to town. You see, while Wal-Mart gives a very high percentage of their political donations to one party and Target gives nearly as high a percentage to that same party, Costco gives more to the other side - which happens to be the side we were on.

(Naming no names, of course.
