It appears the Vattern bath cabinets are only available in 15" depth. This seems a very strange size -- so shallow!
Anyway, I plan to use a standard 22" deep cultured marble vanity top over the Vattern sink and base cabintets. Asside from the wasted space under the counter between the back wall and cabinet, does anyone see a problem with this installation?
Have any of you tried this?
FYI -- I did consider
Akurum
, but think they will be to large for the space...

HAMBONE! Welcome to IKEAFANS! I am personally very glad you are here- for all the normal reasons, but also because I love your name!
I used to joke all the time about doing the hambone (which, for those of you who do not know is defined here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hambone) until my husband's step-uncle (hey, it's easier than my MIL's husband's brother) heard me say it, whipped off his shirt, and performed a very credible hambone right there in the dining room.
I'm not familiar with the Vattern line at all but some have said they are not as sturdy as the
Akurum
line. Have you considered reducing the depth and/or height of the
Akurum
cabs to fit your space?

No going back now. . .
We went to Ikea (twin cities, mn. usa) today and filled the car with 3 bathrooms worth of Vättern cabinets. I mixed some 20" depth pcs with the 15" deep pcs. . . it will be a couple months before I install, but apparently the entire bath line is being overhauled at Ikea and I didn't want to deal with starting over with new styles and sizes etc.
Three bathrooms worth! You must have a lot of work ahead of you. Glad you could find the 20" depth you were looking for. Let us know how they work out for you.
