Aside from having to finish the cut edge, I think you're gonna have a stability issue with the cut half-doors. There are indeed two mounting points per door - a set of wheels on the bottom, and a spring loaded "tongue" at the top which rides in a groove in the top rail. The wheels and tongues are set fairly close to the corners of the door (with a couple of inches), which means you'll have most of the door flapping, with no anchor point to keep it in line and on track - it seems to me the cut doors will want to pivot on the single mounting points, rather than slides as they're intended.
