I am trying to decide what pax door I should get. The only ones I like are the oak slab and the glass door. I would love to get something custom made but with all the projects going on right now in our house I have wisely decided to step away from making more work and go with ready made.

HOWEVER... that being said I don't like the fact that you can see through the glass door. The whole idea of the pax unit is to be our front door closet as we have no built-in closets on the ground floor. I don't want to be able to see the clutter I want to hide the clutter.

In one of the zillions of magazines I have lying around I saw an ikea kitchen where they painted the back of the glass uppers so that they glass would be more opaque. Of course this was said off the cuff so I have no idea how to do it. Anyone have any suggestions how I could make the doors less see through. I have tried the spray on frosting stuff before and I wasn't a big fan of the smell or the finished result.

And one final question can the pax glass door have any type of handle or is it just the really small ones?

I would like to suggest you try Vellum. It was recently used on the Design Star reality television show. It is a paper that can be cut to size and resembles frosted/sand blastedglass. It would be cheap and easy to replace.

You can line it with any fabric you like, just tape it in there. You can spray white paint on it, I did that on some glass top tables and it gave it a frosted effect. You can use a stencil or even lace before you spray as a stencil. Or you can use an opaque window tint plastic, I did that too on the French doors to DH's office. It's easy to apply with just a squirt of soapy water and it comes off by peeling, no adhesive residue. I got it near the blinds and shades in Home Depot. They come in several designs but I like the plain frosted.
