Question Midbeam pulled out of ANEBODA bed frame

I have only had my Aneboda bed for 4 months and this has already happened twice...

While sleeping- literally just laying there still... the midbeam has pulled out of the headboard. That is the 2 screws in the metal plate that holds the midbeam to the headboard have pulled out and cannot be screwed back in the same holes.

The first time I just moved the midbeam to the lower setting, but last night it happened again... so I am out of settings and don't have $ to replace the entire bed!

I am not a heavy person I weight 64 kilo (142 lb) so cannot imagine I am too big for the bed!

Help!! Is there some way I can fix this... maybe drill extra holes? Get some plywood? Why does this keep happening!?

Re: Midbeam pulled out of ANEBODA bed frame

Welcome to IKEAFANS, RWood.

I'm not a big fan of the Aneboda bed, but I've never seen this happen, so I can only speculate as to why it is happening.

There are a couple of ways to fix this, but the best way would be to buy a set of 4 bolts, nuts and washers, and use them to bolt the plate to the headboard. You could probably use 3/16 x 1 1/2" bolts, with flat washers on one side and split washers on the other, plus the nuts to fit the bolts.

While you're doing this for the headboard, you might want to consider making the same fix pre-emptively on the footboard. It's not an attractive solution, but it may save you from the same "fate" on the other end of the bed.

Thanks so much Chuck! That is exactly what the guy at my hardware store recommended last night!
