PAX Planner tool Questions

Help! The PAX Planner is driving me bonkers!

I'm feeling really lame for a few reasons. I'm hoping that you'll tell me the tool is lamer than me. Also, I swear I looked for answers/FAQs to at least some of these questions, but I couldn't find them.

1. Where does it save the file? It says hard drive, but I did a search and I couldn't find it.
2. Is there a corner unit I can add?
3. Is there a way to make the "wall" taller? I've got a 117" ceiling height and the planner only goes to 93.
4. Is there a way to save the image other than a screen shot? I want to be able to post it here.
5. Should I give up the ghost and learn to use SketchUp?

TIA

The kitchen isn't done and the bed isn't in the bedroom yet, but I really want to put my clothes away in my new walk in closet!

I haven't tried to learn the planner, but yes, there is a corner unit you can add for $64 ( Seattle price, which could differ from yours). It measures 20.5 w . by 18.75 deep x 93-1/8 tall. You install it with 3-7/8" of space behind the unit to get the front to align. The drawing looks like you put the open end of the corner unit up against one end of the wide unit to make the L As far as I can tell, it doesn't provide much storage space of its own, but allows you not to block the end of the wide unit. The display I've seen had only a hanging rod installed in it.

That's exactly the corner unit of which I speak! There used to be one in the old planner because I remember I kept getting the error that I needed to use the 100 frame. I had no idea what that meant at the time 'cause I don't think in metric (it refers to the wide 39" one).

But now it's no where to be found in the planner. Grrrrr.

As a software product manager it really chaps my hide to know that an "upgrade" caused perfectly good functionality to disappear!

We are actually using 2 of these corner units. Together they will make up the back wall of the closet. I'm hoping that with two next to each other I won't have to worry about pulling them away from the wall. We'll see.

I hope my info isn't out of date! It's a brochure I picked up about 6 months ago, so you never know.

We used the corner unit in the Pax wardrobe we recently installed in DD 's room. The back lines up flush with the side of the main 39" unit.

Kathy your info isn't out of date, but, as is true to form, IKEA hasn't included it in the planner.

Sigh.

The new bedroom planner does now include the corner unit for PAX.

Which is not to say that it actually works the way it should. It can be a little bit of a headache to plan a corner unit wardrobe with the new planner.

But at least it is there.

Kundi,

This is exciting news!
Are you getting to the planner from the Aussie IKEA site or the US one?

The links for different countries are:
IKEA | Planners and Online Tools
IKEA | Download planner
IKEA | Download planner

Yet I don't think that US or AU actually published that link anywhere - I know our site still doesn't.
